January-February 2018 – On November 13, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected a request to reconsider its decision to uphold Arkansas’s defunding of Planned Parenthood.
Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson ended the state’s Medicaid contract with Planned Parenthood in 2015. In August 2017, a three-judge panel of the court annulled a federal judge’s preliminary injunction that had temporarily prevented Arkansas from suspending Medicaid payments for Planned Parenthood services.
