March 2018 – A 2017 Pew Research survey has revealed that roughly four in ten Americans have personally experienced online harassment, and 62% consider it a major problem. While the majority agree that social media platforms should take responsibility in addressing threatening behaviors, opinions vary greatly concerning other scenarios that qualify as harassment and how they should be handled.
