November 2018 – In 35 out of the 84 countries with the largest Christian populations, two-thirds of self-identified Christians say religion is very important in their lives, Pew Research found in a June survey. Overall, 32 of the countries were in Africa or Latin America. The remaining three countries were the United States, the Philippines, and Malaysia. The country with the largest percentage of committed Christians was Ethiopia.

The survey results were based on how Christians answered questions about how frequently they pray and attend religious services, and how highly they regard religion.
