September 2019 – A North Carolina woman, known by the pseudonym “Alexis,” who began a chemical abortion process at A Preferred Women’s Health Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, heard a sidewalk counselor yell out as she was leaving the clinic: “It might not be too late for you – AbortionPillReversal.com. They can still help you save your baby.”
The chemical abortion process begins when a pregnant mother takes RU-486 (mifepristone) to block progesterone, a hormone. Later, she takes misoprostol to start contractions that lead to delivery of a dead child.
Although Alexis had already taken the first pill, she located the website the counselor had yelled out to her and called the pregnancy center listed on the site. She was quickly provided an ultrasound and reversal treatment, consisting of an extra boost of progesterone to offset the effects of mifepristone.
The pregnancy center also held a baby shower for Alexis. Several months later, she delivered healthy twins.
