AFA initiatives, Christian activism, news briefs
June 2020 – During peak days of the COVID-19 pandemic, AFA vice president Walker Wildmon coordinated Feed Tupelo, an AFA partnership with Eight Days of Hope, a disaster relief ministry based in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Staff members from both ministries and other volunteers followed CDC guidelines to produce, package, pray over, and deliver sandwich-style lunches and hot dinners to the needy – almost 30,000 meals total. Every take-out container was adorned with a handwritten, Scripture-based message of hope.
Wildmon said, “I felt God’s leading for AFA to do something to help during this unique time, and delivering free meals to families all across Tupelo was one way we could meet a need in our own community.”
