May 2020Late last year, in an effort to accommodate transgender students, a Wisconsin high school retrofitted a boy’s restroom, converting it into a gender-neutral space. Though the school considered the move to be a cost-effective way to deal with the issue, the facility has already created problems.

In late February, an 18-year-old student was arrested for fourth-degree sexual assault, child enticement, and exposing his genitals to a child while inside the school restroom.

According to the local sheriff’s office, the gender-neutral restroom has now been closed. But the school has yet to send a message to parents. Instead, the administration is claiming it was an isolated incident and the student offender had been removed from the school.

AFA and other conservative groups continue to sound the alarm that incidents like this are not isolated and will increase as long as policies allow men into women’s dressing rooms and restrooms.
