May 2020In October 2019, a poll released by Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) shows that overall support for socialism is decreasing in the U.S., but the millennial generation continues to increase its support.

Among adults ages 22-37, 70% said they were either “somewhat likely” (50%) or “extremely likely” (20%) to vote for a socialist in the 2020 elections. Only 57% of millennials believe the Declaration of Independence “guarantees freedom and equality” more sufficiently than The Communist Manifesto.

“When we don’t educate our youngest generations about the historical truth of 100 million victims murdered at the hands of communist regimes over the past century,” said Marion Smith, VOC executive director, “we shouldn’t be surprised at their willingness to embrace Marxist ideas. We need to redouble our efforts to educate America’s youth. …”
