May 2021According to the 2020 Post-Election Survey from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, the U.S. has experienced a sharp drop in support for socialism. After reaching a peak of 41% of U.S. adults supporting socialism in 2018, now less than a third (32%) prefer socialism over capitalism. The nine percentage-point shift represents 20 million people. Despite the decline, 80 million Americans still support socialism.

“As socialistic policies move forward under the Biden administration and a Democratic Congress, it will be interesting to see next year’s numbers,” said Ed Vitagliano, AFA vice president.
