April 2016 – In Rutherford County, North Carolina, Sheriff Chris Francis recently added “In God We Trust,” the national motto, to patrol cars. Francis had thought of adding the motto for some time but couldn’t manage it in his budget.

Now, Pastor David Ledford of Fairview Baptist Church in Golden Valley has offered to fund the decals on the present fleet and for any additional vehicles purchased in the future.

“I am very appreciative of the church’s donation that has allowed this project to get underway,” Francis told North Carolina News Now. “I whole heartedly believe in our nation’s motto and am proud that it will be displayed on the Rutherford County sheriff’s vehicles.”
