January 2016 – AFA, EngageMagazine.net, and e3 Partners joined together in October asking supporters to send letters to family members of the 21 Coptic Christians martyred by ISIS in February 2015. The video of that slaughter went viral, and people across the world watched in horror as the Christians were marched out on a beach in Libya wearing orange jumpsuits. (See November, 2015 AFA Journal.)

By the end of the letter-writing campaign, more than 2,000 letters were translated, and e3 Partners’ Tom Doyle hand-delivered them to the families of these martyrs.

“It was an amazing site to see,” Doyle said. “We took the letters and bundled them up with a ribbon around them. These wives took their bundles and just clutched them to their chests. They were so encouraged.” Doyle said the letters were also a testimony to others in the families’ villages that Christians around the world had not forgotten these families and their sacrifice.
