May 2016 – Belief in Jesus is widespread but largely inaccurate in the UK according to a recent Barna study commissioned by the Evangelical Alliance, Hope International, and the Church of England. Of 3,000 adults surveyed, 61% believe Jesus was a real, historical person, but only 22% believe Jesus was God in human form. The most common belief, held by 29%, is that Jesus was a prophet or spiritual leader. This is similar to the view held by many ethnic minorities, 79% of whom say Jesus was a real person, but only 25% believe He was God in human form.
