May 2016 – First Liberty Institute, a Texas legal group, identified and recorded 1,285 legal attacks against religious liberty in the U.S. in 2015. That more than doubles the number documented by the organization in 2013. The report says attacks occur in four areas: the public arena, education, religious institutions, and the U.S. military.
First Liberty encourages Americans to be informed on their rights in each area and be ready to defend them.
“The Constitution hasn’t changed,” said Kelly Shackelford, president of First Liberty. “Religious liberty is still our first, foundational freedom – and when Americans stand up for their rights, they can win.”
