May 2016 – Porn use is clearly linked to increased sexual aggression among both men and women, concludes a new study by Indiana University and University of Hawaii-Manoa.
“We cannot ignore the growing body of research revealing how pornography is significantly correlated to increases in sexual violence and aggression,” agreed Dawn Hawkins, executive director of National Center on Sexual Exploitation. The new study, titled A Meta-Analysis of Pornography Consumption and Actual Acts of Sexual Aggression in General Population Studies, researched and assessed 22 different studies from 7 countries.
The New York-based NCOSE (endsexualexploitation.org) was founded as Morality in Media in 1962 and is arguably the nation’s leading opponent of pornography.
Today, NCOSE fights sex trafficking, violence against women, child abuse, and porn addiction. NCOSE offers a broad range of resources for victims of pornography and information on combatting this scourge on society.
