May 2017 – A recent study by the Centers for Disease Control reveals women ages 15 to 29 have experienced a 10% decline in the rate of childbirth in a six-year timespan – a statistic that pairs with an increase in ownership of small dogs. The women who have chosen to be “childfree” replace children with something else to cuddle and care for: pets.
One Millennial woman told the New York Post in 2014: “It’s just less work and, honestly, I have more time to go out.”
