October 2018 – The Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, welcomes a much-anticipated exhibit honoring the life and ministry of Rev. Billy Graham. The exhibit, titled “Pilgrim Preacher: Billy Graham, the Bible, and the Challenges of the Modern World,” opened in August and runs through January 27, 2019. It features artifacts from his life, including original pulpits he used during his first and last crusades, sermon notes, personal Bibles, and original movie posters from his film production company.

According to associate curator David Anthony Schmidt, the exhibit focuses on Graham’s evangelical work of the 1960s and 1970s, his use of Scripture, and the ways he incorporated television, radio, and even movies to convey the biblical message.

“His relationship with the Bible shaped his identity as a person,” said Schmidt. “It shaped how he understood himself and the world around him.”
