April 2019 – Although largely uninformed regarding specifics of the landmark Supreme Court cases that legalized abortion on demand in America, 40% of young adults, age 18-34, said they supported the court’s rulings, according to a poll commissioned by Students for Life
(
studentsforlife.org).

However, after hearing a series of factual statements regarding Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, many poll respondents modified their positions. (See graph above.)

The greatest change came in the category of those initially opposing the Court’s ruling. After hearing the facts of the cases, that number jumped from 12% to 41%.

Summarizing their findings, the pollsters said, “Millennials are willing to reconsider their point of view on abortion … when presented with the facts, an opportunity for legislators and pro-life leaders nationwide.”
