January-February 2021Almost one year after President Donald Trump’s administration rebuked the United Nations for “undermining the role of the family,” the United States has partnered with 32 other countries in the Geneva Consensus Declaration (GCD) to proclaim unequivocally that “there is no international right to abortion.”

According to LifeSiteNews, the GCD represents more than 1.6 billion people and works toward “strengthening women’s health, preserving human life, empowering the family as the foundational unit of society, and protecting every nation’s national sovereignty in global politics.”

Secretary of State Michael Pompeo said, “Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States has defended the dignity of human life everywhere and always. He’s done it like no other president in history. We’ve also mounted an unprecedented defense of the unborn abroad.”

All signers of the declaration agree that every human has the right to life, and abortion should never be a method of family planning.
