January-February 2021In late October, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that Israel was making a $5 million donation of wheat to Sudan. The announcement came on the heels of the peace agreement brokered by President Donald Trump between Israel and the nation’s longtime enemy Sudan.

The peace deal allowed economically depleted Sudan to be removed from the U.S. list of countries that sponsor terrorism worldwide. And beyond the immediate humanitarian aid, Israel also promised Sudan much-needed debt relief as well as agricultural and technological aid.

“We brought three peace deals in six weeks,” Netanyahu stated. “It’s not luck; it’s not coincidence but the results of clear policy and our efforts.”
