January-February 2021Shocking results of a 50-state survey commissioned by Jewish Material Claims Against Germany were released in September. Sadly, 63% of polled Americans ages 18-39 did not know that almost 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust. Almost half of those surveyed (48%) could not name one of the hundreds of Nazi-run death camps, concentration camps, or ghettos.

Even more disturbing, nearly one quarter (23%) of participants denied the Holocaust ever happened, and 11% claimed the Jews caused the Holocaust.

Sarah Stern of Endowment for Middle East Truth believes the study demonstrated the dire need for American students to consistently be taught about the genocide of the Holocaust.

“[This study] shows how when racism, anti-Semitism, or any other hatred of the other gets out of hand, where it could lead to,” said Stern. “It is extremely important that we educate all of our young people.” (See feature here.)
