January-February 2021On October 18, Christian leaders livestreamed an international day of prayer for Muslim-background Christians, possibly one of the fastest growing Christian communities in the world.

Particularly in Iran, Muslims are coming to faith in Christ in large numbers, all while the country experiences the spread of the coronavirus, mysterious fires and explosions, widespread protests, and executions.

“That’s why we are calling this a pandemic of hope,” said Mike Ansari of Mohabat TV, a popular Christian satellite channel in Iran.

The decision to leave Islam and follow Christ comes with great risk of severe persecution, including death, in Muslim-dominated countries.
