November 2021Noah Swanger’s father, Officer Jason Swanger, was a hero to his family and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. When he died from COVID-19 earlier this year, his family and coworkers were heartbroken. Subsequently, the police department decided to honor Jason’s memory by reaching out to the family. On Noah’s first day of fourth grade, the squad surprised him with a police escort to school. When they arrived, Noah was wearing a tie, as his mom said, “He is the man of the house.”

“He’s an amazing kid,” Officer Don Sutton said of Noah. “He’s got a big heart, too, just like his dad. And it’s extremely important to us to see him go on and be happy and live a wonderful life.”

Noah hopes to someday become an officer, just like his father.
