September 2015 – American Family Studios’ second feature film, I Am Potential, premiered July 9 at the historic Louisville Palace in Louisville, Kentucky. I Am Potential is the inspiring true story of Patrick Henry Hughes, who – though born without eyes or the ability to walk – overcame his physical challenges and achieved his dream of being in the University of Louisville marching band, pushed in a wheelchair by his father.

Over 1,500 people attended the premiere. Jimmy Bellinger and Jama Williamson, who played the roles of Patrick Henry Hughes and mother Patricia Hughes, came from LA for the red carpet event. The Hughes family, for whom Louisville is home, was a big hit.

Writer/director Zach Meiners was an AFS staff member during the production of the film.

“It was truly an exciting time for AFS,” said AFS director Jeff Chamblee. “It’s a movie that will entertain and inspire viewers for years to come.”

WHAS 11 News and other media covered the evening. The film will be available in November at afastore.net.
