September 2015 – The NAACP filed suit against Ryan Bomberger (above) and his Radiance Foundation for its parody calling the NAACP the “National Association for the Abortion of Colored People.”  Initially, on April 24, 2014, a U.S. district judge ruled in favor of NAACP, denying Bomberger and the foundation the First Amendment right to criticize NAACP’s abortion advocacy through parody/satire. Radiance has since taken the case to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and won.
