September 2015 – Beginning this fall, the Los Angeles Unified School District will provide “sexting” education to students as part of their new curriculum. The sext education plan is set to be broad in scope, providing schools with lesson plans, videos, and handouts for use with students. District Police Chief Steven Zipperman hopes this new addition to the curriculum will teach students not only about the laws surrounding obscenity and child pornography but also about the personal consequences and risks that go hand in hand with sexting.
