September 2015 – Both the old and the new draw people back again and again to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.

“In today’s out-of-control culture, it can be chancy going to any public venue – even a theme park,” Jody Brown told AFA Journal. “But I don’t think twice about taking my loved ones to SDC because there’s nothing there that will push against the traditional beliefs and values my wife and I have tried to instill in them across the years.”

On a recent visit to SDC, the Browns visited Fireman’s Landing, where a fictional storyline (based on a city which once occupied the SDC site) salutes the spirit and training activities of community volunteer firefighters. Six rides and four interactive play zones engage family members of all ages.

“Our favorite area was Firefighter’s Fire Drill – an indoor, multi-level area with buckets, pumpers, foam ball cannons, and targets for showering mock fires,” Brown said.

Brown is editor of AFA’s OneNewsNow.com e-news service. He said, “Sadly, parents and grandparents today aren’t guaranteed a wholesome, family experience at many theme parks. But with Silver Dollar City on the agenda, they can bank on it.”
