September 2015 – According to a 2015 poll by Newseum Institute, only 24% of adults surveyed believe news media are unbiased in reporting news. This is a decline of 17 percentage points from last year.

In another 2015 poll, Pew Research asked Millennials (18-34 years old), Generation X (35-50 years old), and Baby Boomers (51-69 years old) to choose their favorite news sources from a list of 42 sources including TV, websites, radio, and social media.

Facebook turned out to be the most used news source by both Millennials (61%) and Generation X (51%), followed by CNN (44% of Millennials and 45% of Generation X) and local TV (37% of Millennials and 46% of Generation X). The top three news sources for Baby Boomers are local TV (60%), NBC News (47%), and Fox News (47%). Online sources are also popular for Generation X and Millennials, with about 25% of each group using Yahoo News, and 33% of Millennials also using Google News.
