August 2019 – As a means to protect pre-born babies, six states have passed some form of a Heartbeat Bill this year: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, Louisiana, and Ohio. And according to the Guttmacher Institute, a total of 26 abortion bans have been enacted in 12 states so far in 2019.

Disney, Netflix, and other entertainment entities responded to those bills and bans with threats of boycotts and advertisement cancellations. Other corporations have started fundraising campaigns in support of abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood.

In contrast, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption partnered with Snapchat in an effort to expand its Cause Cups program into all 50 states. Beginning in May, customers can donate $5 toward the foundation’s adoption efforts by scanning the Snapcode located on drink containers provided at all
participating Wendy’s.
