April 2020January 23, 2020, marked the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the most notorious of the Holocaust death camps. In the largest diplomatic event in Israel’s history, over 45 world leaders gathered at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem for the fifth World Holocaust Forum, “Remembering the Holocaust, Fighting Anti-Semitism,”

Speaking at the event on behalf of the U.S., Vice President Mike Pence said, “The world can only marvel at the faith and resilience of the Jewish people, who just three years after walking in the valley of the shadow of death, rose up from the ashes to reclaim a Jewish future and rebuild the Jewish State.”

Pence also vowed that the U.S. would stand strong with Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s leading sponsor of state led anti-Semitism.
