April 2020 – Three communities in Texas recently joined five others from the state, declaring themselves “sanctuary cities for the unborn.” Those eight cities in the Lone Star state have, by vote, voiced disapproval of abortion and their intention to outlaw it once allowed to do so. The measures would also empower families of post-abortive women to sue abortionists for emotional distress.
“To say we can’t ban abortion is simply not true,” said Mark Lee Dickson, director of Right to Life of East Texas. “We’re passing laws because resolutions do not prevent abortion clinics from coming into cities, but ordinances, a law put in place, will,” Dickson said. “This is a strong stance that babies will not be murdered in our cities. We need to stand up with our leaders in bringing this Holocaust to an end once and for all.”
