August 2020 – Many small churches took a drastic hit during the COVID-19 crisis. But thanks to Churches Helping Churches, a COVID-19 church relief fund, some were able to reopen their doors without the fear of financial ruin.
In early May, many big-name Christian artists and sports superstars joined together for a simulcast drawing attention to the issue and raised over $153,000 for relief. At press time, $649,620 had been raised, 100% going to churches in need.
“It’s been great to see so many brothers and sisters in Christ come together to bear each other’s burdens and be the church,” former NFL player Benjamin Watson said.
