August 2020One day recently I was thinking about all the turmoil in our country now with seemingly no answers to the problems causing so much division among Americans. Words from a song made famous by the late Andraé Crouch came to me: “Jesus is the answer for the world today. Above him there’s no other, Jesus is the way.”

We followers of Jesus Christ are really the only people who can clearly see what is happening in our country and our world because we believe the Bible, and the Bible says we can see things with spiritual eyes. The Scripture says there is a spiritual war going on between God and Satan. Tell that to people who don’t know Christ, and they look at you as if you have three heads. Or they mock and curse you as a “religious fanatic” or “Jesus freak.” But that is to be expected because the world cannot see with spiritual eyes. Only people who have been redeemed and born again can really understand these things.

In fact, we Christians have more in common with our brothers and sisters in the faith than we do with our brothers and sisters by blood unless they, too, are Christians. That is why we often refer to one another as “brother” or “sister.”

There is an intensifying movement to destroy America as we have known it. Secular “progressives” are engaging in an open revolution against our constitutional republic and Christianity. If you don’t understand what “progressive” means politically, think Marxism, which is based on atheism. Progressives think Christians are foolish and find us a great impediment to their agenda because of our numbers.

Barack Obama once derided us as people “who cling to their guns and Bibles.” Hillary Clinton referred to us as a “basket of deplorables.” There are many more examples of very powerful and popular people who have said worse about us. Again, they hold us in great contempt for our beliefs, and we are still a substantial voting bloc.

Why does Satan want to bring down the United States of America? The primary reason for this is that America has historically been responsible for spreading Christianity more than any other country in the world. I am talking about missionaries from the United States. I am talking about the printing and distribution of Bibles. I am talking about new church plants. I am talking about Christian radio across the globe. I am talking about almost all the works of compassion in Third World countries around the globe that are paid for and performed by American Christians.

With respect to the racial tension we see in our country, Satan is using this issue to divide our country even more than ever before. Christianity promotes love and respect for our fellow man. The gospel is for all people, and God is no respecter of persons. That is clear throughout the New Testament. So, if you hold others’ skin color against them, or if you believe your skin color makes you somehow a superior human being, that is sin according to God. This sin of mistreating someone based on ethnic or tribal identity has plagued mankind for all of human history. This ideology has led to countless millions enslaved and/or killed.

AFA will continue to teach, equip, and call Christians to action through AFA Journal, email Action Alerts, American Family Radio, and other means. The majority of our fellow Americans (including many Christians) don’t have a true grasp on what is happening behind the curtain on the world stage. It’s our job to educate and motivate as many as we can. We need more troops to fight this spiritual war.

Make no mistake – the organized secular progressives want to replace the Christian influence in America with atheism. We stand in their way. If they are successful, it will lead to persecution – at some point, even physical persecution – of conservatives in general and Christians in particular.
