August 2020 – On May 19, at the age of 74, Ravi Zacharias, Christian apologist, evangelist, and author, succumbed to the cancer he had battled for several months. Since his remarkable salvation experience as a suicidal young man in India, Zacharias unwaveringly defended his faith in Christ across the globe. His balanced, Bible-based, and intellectual approach to theology spoke to skeptics and believers alike. Through the years, Zacharias often recounted how the words of Jesus from John 14:19 first pierced his heart and changed his eternal destiny: “Because I live, you also shall live.” And until the moment of his death, those words remained the bedrock foundation of Zacharias’s ministry and life.
