November 2019A leftist clique of University of Kansas leaders has criticized the university for allowing Chick-fil-A to improve its fast-food location on campus.

The Sexuality and Gender Diversity Faculty and Staff Council released a statement criticizing the school for granting “Chick-fil-A, a bastion of bigotry, a prime retail location in the heart of our campus.” Chick-fil-A’s apparent “offenses” (cited on its foundation website) include support for the Salvation Army, Angel Tree gifts for kids, sports camps for high school students, a Christian home for children, and more.

Campusreform.org reported that in 2014, students and faculty petitioned the university not to renew Chick-fil-A’s contract.

Council leader Katie Batza opined, “And despite that, they went ahead and signed a contract for another
10 years.”
